Padded Girl Project
Addressing Menstrual
Poverty
The Padded Girl Project addresses
menstrual poverty, a critical issue affecting
over 37 million Nigerian women and girls.
This project is not just about providing
sanitary solutions; it’s about empowering
women through education and skill
development

From November 2023 to March 2024, the
project conducts hands-on training for
women in Kwara State, teaching them to
make cost-effective reusable sanitary pads.
Supported by the U.S. Mission Nigeria, this
initiative will reach 400 women across eight
communities, including Elemere, Asomu,
Akata Olosun, Eyenkorin, Olooru, Shaoo,
Gaa Alaanu, and Gerewu
